Worth Your Watch

Check out this 1 minute clip of Pastor Andy Stanley from North Point Community Church.

A few thoughts about the video…

You should have no tolerance for being treated like a commodity!

In case you’re wondering what commodity means, one of the definitions you can find in the dictionary is: A mass produced, unspecialized product.

Mass produced meaning there are tons like it. There are tons of girls who unfortunately let men use them for their bodies. Don’t be one of those girls. Demand better for yourself.

Being a commodity is more than the way you dress. It has as much to do with the inside as it does with the outside. If you have Christ, you are a daughter of God and you are precious to him. You are rare and special creation. You are not a disposable product.

If you are fishing with your body, you will catch body-snatchers! As funny as that sounds, it is true. If you keep attracting the same type of guys, switch the bait you are fishing with. Don’t lead with your beauty, lead with what’s on the inside. Then you will get the kind of guy who cares more about touching your heart than touching your body.

Heres a video I hope helps the single or dating girls out there. You may or may have already run into a situation like this where you are confused and not sure what to do.

Remember…

Let him pursue you. My favorite quote in this video is, “Don’t chase a man, because if you start to chase him you will be chasing him for the rest of your life.” You don’t want to pressure a guy into being with you, you want to be his first choice. There shouldn’t be any question in your mind about whether he is crazy about you. When you let him take initiative and pursue you, it will make it very clear that he is interested in you. If you chase him, you will eventually be left wondering if he really loves you or if you just pushed him into it.

It’s okay to ask. Sometimes there are situations in which you just have to ask. Maybe he is waiting for the right time, or maybe it’s gonna take a little nudge and reassurance from you. Ask him what HIS plan is. Its not your job to tell him what your plan is, let him lead. If he doesn’t have a plan, he is probably not ready or serious about really pursuing you.

It takes a man to pursue a woman. It takes a man to pursue a woman and put himself out there, even when rejection is a possibility. A man is not going to sit back passively and let you come to him… that’s not a real man. You are someones first pick. Don’t settle for a guy you have to chase and convince to love you.

I hope this helped bring some clarity for some girls out there! You are a treasure and you deserve to be pursued.

In honor of Valentines Day, what topic is more fitting than love? Take a few minutes to watch this video describing God’s love for us.

A few thoughts about the video…

He is jealous for you. God loves you so much that he is actually jealous for your attention! He doesn’t just want a part of your life, he wants all of you. He desires to be with you.

Real Love. God sending his only son to earth to be beaten and murdered so that you could one day be with him forever… that’s real love. He did it all for you. A guy buying you flowers and taking you on a date looks cheap in comparison. Jesus sacrifice is an expression of how great the love of God is.

He loves us even when we sin. Our sin makes His love even more mind blowing, because he loves us even though we continue to sin against him. That’s not because of who we are, but it is because of who He is.

I pray this for you on this Valentines Day-

“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” Ephesians 3:18-19

Take just a couple minutes to watch this clip of Pastor Matt Chandler.

Just a few quick thoughts…

Jesus wants you no matter where you’ve been. Whatever your past is, no matter how broken or dirty you might feel, Jesus still wants you. He wants you to trust him with your life and become part of his family.

You are not damaged goods. If you have a sexual past that you feel ashamed of, that does not make you a second-class citizen. The Bible says,

“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”  -2 Corinthians 5:17

If you have trusted Jesus you are a NEW person. You no longer have to be ashamed of the things youve done, because that isnt you anymore! You have a new life in Christ. Don’t ever let anyone make you feel like a less valuable Christian because of your past. God’s purpose is not limited by your past.

I hope this encourages you if you’ve ever felt like the rose. Know that Jesus wants you, no matter what.

Think about it…

What do you think Matt meant when he said “the church is often an enemy of conversion and not its friend”?
